My sister Nyssa graciously posed for a portrait over winter break back in VA. I painted myself as a pirate earlier in 2008 and I thought I'd continue with that theme. The pirate thing is just for fun and a way to use my imagination. I get bored painting simple portraits. The pirate theme gives it a story and another point of interest. The palette is the same as this.
